There’s no shortage of advanced facials in London promising brighter, smoother, more youthful skin. Every so often, though, a treatment comes along that genuinely feels a step ahead. My experience with LaserTox™ at Skin Doctor Clinics was exactly that. Results-driven, high-tech, and refreshingly honest about the fact that real change does not always come wrapped in comfort.
Marketed as a high-performance, all-in-one treatment, LaserTox™ combines multiple clinically proven technologies into a single session designed to improve texture, tone, redness, and pore size. It is not the kind of facial where you drift off and forget where you are. It is far more purposeful. The results, however, make that entirely worthwhile.
The consultation and patch test
Before committing to the full LaserTox™ treatment, I visited the clinic with Maddie for a patch test about a week beforehand. This step is essential when working with energy-based devices such as IPL and laser resurfacing, as it ensures your skin reacts safely.

The process was quick and reassuring. A small area of my skin was treated using the same technology that would later be used across my face, allowing the practitioner to monitor any reaction. Thankfully, my skin responded well, so I went into the full appointment feeling confident rather than cautious.
Step one: deep cleanse and light peel
On the day, everything began with a thorough cleanse. This is more than your standard facial prep. It is designed to remove every trace of makeup, oil, and daily residue so the skin is completely ready. This was followed by a light chemical peel. Gentle but effective, it works to lift away dead skin cells and refine the surface. It also allows the technology used later in the treatment to penetrate more evenly and effectively. At this stage, everything felt familiar and relatively comfortable. A calm before what is, quite honestly, a more intense middle section.
Step two: IPL
The first piece of technology used is IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light. Unlike traditional lasers, IPL uses multiple wavelengths of light, allowing it to target several concerns at once. It works by delivering pulses of light into the skin, which are absorbed by pigment and blood vessels. This helps to reduce redness, break down pigmentation, and even out overall tone.

In terms of sensation, it feels like quick flicks against the skin. Not painful, but certainly noticeable. The pulses are fast, and while it is not entirely relaxing, it is very manageable.
Step three: laser resurfacing
This is where things become more intense and where the treatment really starts to work its magic. LaserTox™ uses the Lumenis M22 ResurFX, a non-ablative fractional laser designed to improve texture, stimulate collagen production, and refine pores.
Rather than removing the top layer of skin, this technology creates controlled micro-injuries beneath the surface. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, encouraging new collagen and elastin to form. There is no numbing cream involved. This is important to know going in.
The sensation builds as the treatment progresses. Heat, combined with a prickling intensity that I can only describe as very spicy. It is not unbearable, but it is something you have to breathe through. That said, Maddie adjusted the energy levels to suit my skin, so it always feels controlled rather than overwhelming.

For me, it felt like the kind of discomfort that signals something is genuinely happening. Not relaxing, but reassuring in its own way.
Step four: skin infusion
After the intensity of the laser, the treatment shifts into something far more soothing. At this point, the skin is infused with a blend of vitamins, nutrients, and hyaluronic acid. There is also the option to include toxin, designed to enhance smoothing and tightening effects.
Because the skin has just undergone IPL and laser treatment, it is far more receptive. The ingredients are absorbed more effectively, delivering hydration and nourishment deeper into the skin.
Step five: LED light therapy
Next comes LED light therapy, which feels like a welcome reset. Using specific wavelengths of light, this step helps to calm inflammation, reduce redness, and support the healing process. After the heat of the laser, it feels cooling and restorative, giving the skin a moment to settle.

The final step involves the application of growth factors, followed by SPF. Growth factors are proteins that support skin repair and regeneration, helping to accelerate recovery and enhance results. Combined with sun protection, they form a protective barrier, ensuring the skin is supported in the hours following treatment.
The immediate aftermath
Leaving the clinic, my skin was quite red and felt slightly sore, similar to a mild sunburn. It was not painful, but it was noticeable. Over the next few days, the redness gradually subsided. My skin became calmer, and I began to notice that darker areas of pigmentation were starting to fade. There was also a subtle firmness, a kind of natural lift that made everything look fresher without feeling overdone.

The results
What impressed me most was how quickly the results appeared. Within days, my skin looked smoother, brighter, and more even. Pores appeared refined, redness reduced, and there was a clarity that had not been there before. It is not about looking different. It is about looking like a better version of your own skin. The kind of result people notice without quite knowing why.
LaserTox™ at Skin Doctor Clinics is not a treatment for those seeking pure relaxation. It is targeted, effective, and at times, intense. If you want visible results in a single session, though, it delivers. The combination of IPL, advanced laser technology, and active skincare creates a comprehensive treatment that goes far beyond a traditional facial.
The spicy moments are real, but they are brief. The results last far longer. Would I have it again? Absolutely.
