Emma Coleman Skin: Why the Prescription Facial Is a Highly Effective

by The Lord and Lady

I had a wonderful experience at the Emma Coleman Skin Clinic recently for my first-ever facial! Yes, it has taken me this long to venture into the world of Beauty treatments and for my first time, I was in very capable and knowledgeable hands with Emma Coleman in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Emma Coleman has become a trusted name in dermatology-led skincare, combining medical expertise with a holistic approach that considers not only the skin itself but the lifestyle and well-being of each client. Founded in 2015 by Emma Coleman, who worked in the NHS for twenty years before turning her focus fully to dermatology and skincare, the business has steadily grown from a single location to a small group of three clinics. Each site reflects her philosophy of mixing “science and soul,” ensuring that treatments are both clinically sound and deeply nurturing.

The Sevenoaks clinic, where I visited, opened in June and is the newest addition to the group. It is staffed by an impressive team that includes doctors, nurses, several skilled practitioners, and is managed by Lucy, the Advanced Therapist and Clinic Manager. Importantly, Emma herself is dermatology registered, and all the procedures offered at the clinic meet the highest professional standards. What really sets Emma Coleman Skin apart, however, is the use of their own carefully researched and lab-developed skincare products. Emma has personally overseen the creation of the range, drawing on her medical background and extensive experience in dermatology to ensure that each formulation delivers real results.

Emma’s personal journey into dermatology is also worth noting. She began her career in a doctor’s surgery, where she first developed a keen interest in the field, and gradually built her business from the ground up. Her approach is holistic, viewing skin health as dependent on psychological, lifestyle, and practical factors just as much as on clinical treatments. This balance between science and care permeates the entire ethos of the clinic.

The Prescription facial at Emma Coleman Skin

With this solid foundation, I booked in for a Prescription Facial at the Sevenoaks clinic, and I was fortunate to be looked after by the lovely Lucy from start to finish. The experience was a pampering session and a real touch of luxury for my skin. What impressed me most was the time and attention Lucy dedicated to understanding my skin before the treatment even began.

She carried out a thorough skin analysis, explaining my skin type, identifying areas of concern, and outlining how the chosen products and steps would address these issues. Her depth of knowledge was evident, and she patiently answered all of my questions, offering practical advice on aftercare, such as the importance of a clean pillowcase and avoiding unnecessary touching of the face. This initial consultation immediately put me at ease and gave me confidence that I was in expert hands.

The facial itself was multi-step and beautifully structured, each stage flowing seamlessly into the next. It began with a cleanse using the Emma Coleman Creamy Cleanser with Orange and Rice Bran Extracts. This cleanser was both hydrating and soothing, leaving my skin feeling refreshed, while its subtle fragrance added to the sense of indulgence.

The cleansing stage was followed by the use of hot mitts, which opened up the pores and created an immediate sensation of relaxation. Lucy explained the importance of gently patting the skin dry and massaging products into the skin rather than rubbing, as this helps minimise damage, maintain moisture, and reduce irritation. These small but insightful tips made the experience as educational as it was enjoyable.

Next came the application of the 365 Anti-Age Day Cream, one of the signature products from the Emma Coleman range. This silky, luxurious cream is formulated with a blend of botanicals and active ingredients, including Tara Seed, Lingonberry, Tripeptide-1-7, and Vitamins B and C—to hydrate, protect against environmental stressors, and strengthen the skin barrier. The cream felt rich yet light, and Lucy’s skilled application left my skin feeling nourished and supple.

Lucy then introduced facial globes into the treatment, which she explained are excellent for reducing inflammation and promoting circulation. Cooled globes were gently glided over my face, delivering a refreshing and soothing effect that left my skin visibly brighter. Lucy also shared the clever tip of keeping facial globes in the fridge at home for maximum benefit, a small piece of advice I’ll certainly be putting into practice.

One of the standout moments was the use of the Gleam and Glow Micro-Polish. This product is formulated with six different exfoliation and cell renewal ingredients, including Pumpkin, Mango, and Papaya extracts, Glycolic Acid, Bamboo, and Quartz. The polish worked effectively yet gently, lifting away dead skin cells without any irritation. The result was an instant improvement in texture and tone—my skin felt smoother, looked more even, and had a renewed radiance.

The final stage of the treatment was the Dermalux Flex MD LED Light Therapy, a cutting-edge device designed to stimulate collagen production and repair the skin at a deeper level. The light penetrates the skin to reduce wrinkles, improve clarity, and encourage a youthful glow. While the light therapy itself was a high-tech step, Lucy’s reassuring presence made it feel comfortable and relaxing. Knowing the science behind it—that it works to repair and strengthen the skin on a cellular level—made the results feel even more worthwhile.

By the end of the session, my skin felt healthier, smoother, and more hydrated. Fine lines appeared softened, my complexion looked more radiant, and any areas of dullness had been replaced by a healthy glow. Beyond the visible improvements, I left the clinic feeling more confident and reassured about my skincare journey. Lucy’s expertise had not only delivered results in the moment but had also given me tools and knowledge to continue caring for my skin at home.

Emma Coleman Skin’s central message is to “enhance beauty, not change it”, and my experience at the Sevenoaks clinic embodied this philosophy perfectly. The treatment didn’t mask or artificially alter my appearance; instead, it worked with my skin’s natural qualities to reveal a healthier, more luminous version of myself.

I would highly recommend the Prescription Facial at Emma Coleman Skin, particularly with Lucy at the Sevenoaks clinic; her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care made the session feel completely personalised. This was more than just a facial; it was a combination of luxury pampering, expert dermatology, and valuable education about how to support my skin. I left feeling revitalised, with a tailored skincare regimen and a strong desire to return for further treatments. For anyone seeking an experience that blends clinical expertise with holistic care, the Sevenoaks clinic is a destination worth visiting.
