Located in the heart of Tokyo, just a few steps away from Ginza, the world-famous shopping and entertainment district, the luxurious Conrad Tokyo boasts breathtaking views of Tokyo Bay. As we stepped into the lobby, we were warmly greeted by Anita, the receptionist, whose friendly demeanour immediately made us feel welcome.

She promptly checked us in and addressed our queries, demonstrating the high level of customer service that Conrad is known for. After a swift yet thorough check-in process, we were directed to our Twin Bay View Room, eager to immerse ourselves in the serene atmosphere that awaited.
Staying at Conrad Tokyo
Upon entering the room, we were struck by the modern Japanese design that seamlessly blended elegance with functionality. The spacious 48 square meters (516 square feet) of the Twin Bay View Room offered panoramic views that overlooked the beautifully manicured Royal Hamarikyu Gardens and the shimmering expanse of Tokyo Bay. The large windows flooded the room with natural light, creating a warm and inviting ambience.

The room featured two plush twin beds adorned with feather pillows, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The Sumi-e style cherry blossom paintings that adorned the headboard and the floor added a touch of traditional Japanese artistry, while the lantern-style lamps cast a soft glow, enhancing the room’s tranquil vibe.
One of the highlights of the room was the stylish bathroom, which was separated by a glass partition, allowing for a sense of openness. It was equipped with a luxurious freestanding bathtub, a duo of white marble basins, and a light-rimmed circular mirror that exuded sophistication. I relished the idea of unwinding in the bathtub after a long day of exploration, feeling the stress of the city melt away.

The room also boasted a comfortable seating area with a sofa, perfect for leisurely mornings with a cup of coffee. Additional amenities included air conditioning, a bidet, bathrobes, and slippers that further enhanced the sense of comfort. For those needing to catch up on work or plan the day’s adventures, the room featured an ergonomic desk chair, a widescreen television, and a work desk with an adjustable lamp. The mini refrigerator and tea/coffee-making facilities provided convenience, making it easy to enjoy refreshments at any time.
After settling into our room, we decided to indulge in the spa services offered at the hotel. The Conrad Tokyo’s spa, Mizuki, promised a rejuvenating experience, and I was excited to try their personalised body treatment.
Wellness at Conrad Tokyo
As we entered the tranquil spa environment, we were welcomed by soothing aromas and the gentle sounds of nature. My therapist, Wakamatsu, guided me through the process, ensuring that I felt comfortable and at ease. The personalised body treatment aimed to ease stress by realigning the mind, soothing emotions, and relaxing the entire body. Utilising Mizuki’s original essential oil blend, which featured the calming properties of Hinoki (Japanese cypress) and the uplifting scent of Yuzu citrus, I felt my worries dissipate with every stroke.

Meanwhile, Rachel was in the capable hands of Miho, who tailored her experience to address her specific needs. The treatment was transformative, allowing both of us to unwind completely and eliminate the visible signs of fatigue that had accumulated over the previous days of sightseeing in Tokyo.
Dining at Conrad Tokyo
After our rejuvenating spa experience, we were ready to indulge in a culinary journey at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Kazahana. The ambience was serene, with elegant decor that reflected the essence of Japanese culture. Our waitress, Sakura, greeted us with a warm smile and guided us through the tasting menu, while Fuko, the sommelier, expertly paired each dish with the perfect wine.

We began our meal with a glass of Champagne, toasting to a lovely evening ahead. The tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular, with each dish representing the artistry of Japanese cuisine. The standout dishes included the delicate corn tofu, which melted in my mouth, the tempura sea urchin served on a bed of rice with sweet soy, and the succulent Wagyu beef, cooked to perfection. Each bite was a celebration of flavours, textures, and culinary expertise, leaving us in awe of the dining experience.

The evening unfolded leisurely, and each course was a delightful surprise. Sakura and Fuko’s attentive service elevated our meal, ensuring that we felt cared for throughout our dining experience. As we savoured the last bites of dessert, we reflected on the day—a perfect blend of relaxation, indulgence, and exploration.

Retiring to our Twin Bay View Room that night, we felt a sense of peace enveloping us. The city lights twinkled in the distance, and the pyjamas set out on our bed created the perfect snuggly atmosphere for a great night’s sleep. The luxurious amenities and thoughtful design of the room made it a perfect sanctuary after a day filled with new experiences.
My time at the Conrad Tokyo was a luxurious escape that offered a perfect balance of relaxation and indulgence. The combination of attentive service, breathtaking views, and exquisite dining made it a wonderful experience for my first time in Tokyo. As I prepared to check out, I felt a sense of gratitude for the memories created.
