From the moment Lena checked us into our stunning Premium Corner Suite, we were swept away by the charm and comfort that the Lenkerhof exudes.
Arrival and Accommodation
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Lena, whose warm smile and genuine hospitality set the tone for our stay. The Premium Corner Suite, with its sprawling views of the mountains, was a haven of tranquillity. Elegantly designed with modern amenities and a rustic charm, it became our sanctuary after days filled with adventure. The spacious living area, plush furnishings, and cosy terrace invited us to unwind and soak in the breathtaking alpine scenery.
The huge king-size bed and Jack and Jill bathroom were also perfect after a long day hiking the mountains of Lenk, creating a relaxing environment to relax and unwind, allowing one to float into deep sleep enveloped by plush bedding. The bonus of air conditioning was also a great facility, as it was unquestionably warm in the Swiss Alps, and while I do not like to use air conditioning, it allowed us to cool the room before sleep.
Dining Delights: Mountain Restaurant Buehlberg
Our first culinary adventure began at the Mountain Restaurant Buehlberg. Tucked away in the mountains, this restaurant offers a picturesque setting that complements its exquisite menu. Our server, Manon, welcomed us with her cheerful demeanour and expertly guided us through the wine tasters.
We indulged in delectable beef tartare, a dish that showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The highlight, however, was the traditional Swiss cheese fondue, served with Yvorne Blanc white wine. The rich, creamy texture paired with freshly baked bread was a culinary embrace that perfectly encapsulated Swiss comfort food. And to top off our evening, a huge rainbow appeared over Lenk to welcome us to this breathtaking region.
A Taste of Elegance: Restaurant Oh de Vie
The following day, we were treated to lunch and dinner at the elegant Restaurant Oh de Vie. Sylvain, hailing from Avignon, and Lena, with her Greek heritage, provided attentive service that made us feel truly special. The menu featured a delightful array of dishes that emphasised seasonal ingredients and local flavours. Each course was a testament to the culinary artistry that defines Lenkerhof. Adam enjoyed a dish of octopus, which was tender with a beautiful Mediterranean sauce, while I tried the Butternut squash Risotto with truffle, perfectly al dente and full of flavour.
A Gastronomic Journey: Restaurant Spettacolo
For a truly memorable dining experience, we reserved a table at Restaurant Spettacolo. Managed by Alejandro from Mallorca, this restaurant is a culinary haven that offers a tasting menu designed to take diners on a gastronomic journey. Served by the attentive Svetlana from Ukraine and Marta from Barcelona, each dish was a revelation, expertly paired with wines that enhanced the flavours.
Our meal was punctuated by a visit from Florian, the Sous Chef from Lake Constance, whose passion for culinary excellence shone through in every bite. The atmosphere was elevated by the restaurant’s elegant decor and the attention to detail that permeated each aspect of the dining experience.
After-Dinner Relaxation at the Bar and Lounge
After our culinary escapades, we found ourselves at the Lenkerhof’s Bar and Lounge, where we unwound with a lively ambience. Nicholas, from Germany, and Sofia, whose roots trace back to Greece and Mexico, made our evenings even more enjoyable with their engaging conversations and impeccable service. The live music created a vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.
Exploring the Great Outdoors: Hiking in Lenk
With the Swiss Alps as our playground, we spent our days hiking through the stunning landscapes surrounding Lenk. The trails offered a variety of experiences, from leisurely walks to challenging treks, all with the promise of breathtaking views at every turn. The crisp mountain air and the vibrant colours of summer made our hikes an invigorating escape into nature.
After a day of exploration, nothing felt better than returning to the Lenkerhof to indulge in the 7 Sources Beauty and Spa. The sauna area was a sanctuary of relaxation, and my personal favourite was the Dampfbad, a steam bath that enveloped me in warmth and comfort. The Kühlbecken, or cooling pool, offered a refreshing contrast, revitalising my senses and enhancing the spa experience.
