Page8 London

by Emily Healey-Lynham

Positioned on St Martin’s Place Page8 is a brand-new hotel in the heart of London with superb access to the West End, galleries, restaurants and more! We got to spend a night at the hotel to experience the turning of a new page.

Page Hotels, the home of urban explorers, is a lifestyle brand that connects people to people. With 138 beautifully appointed rooms ranging from 17sq m to 34sq m, Page8 is a design-led hotel. The lobby is cleverly merged with Page Common, an open and ample home to a part-bar and part coffeehouse concept, that is a destination in and of itself.

Upon entering we were met by a very friendly reception team who checked us in and offered us a complimentary drink from Page Common, the room was ready so the team very kindly brought up our drinks and bags and showed us the location for the night.

A nice twin room with two decent sized beds. The room was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Nice Bigelow toiletries in the bathroom, fluffy towels, good robes, slippers and the room also had a host of necessities lest you’ve forgotten your toothbrush, toothpaste and some other necessary amenities.  A compact but chic marble bathroom and the products in the shower were of a good size too.

Everything looks and feels modern and cosy with lots of USB ports, Bluetooth Marshall speaker, TV (with Freeview) and mini bar the room could quite easily be a haven from the outside world!  In fact, despite being in a busy intersection, the hotel rooms were surprisingly quiet.  Natural light is key, with each room boasting large windows overlooking some of central London’s most iconic landmarks.

After getting ready to the hit town we left Page8 to walk to the locations we needed for food and entertainment and the evening staff on the front desk were just as welcoming and friendly as the afternoon team.  It was fantastic to be in a location so easy to return to after seeing a West End show to rest after a busy day in the Capital.

The pillows for the bed were a tad soft for my liking, they could do with a choice of pillows, but the whisper-quiet Swedish home air purifier, to help guests breathe as nature intended, is a lovely touch – protecting guests from London air pollution, creating a healthier environment and improving sleep.

The coffee in this hotel is also exceptional – as good as if not better than most coffee shops in the area.  The lobby in the morning offers a large array of breakfast’s which they were happy to serve us after we had gone for a morning walk across the road to see The Portrait Gallery.  The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble, makes the stay even nicer when the staff are pleasant too.

Page8 is conveniently tucked between London’s trendy and creative Covent Garden district and a great place to stay if you are in the City exploring and need a comfortable and well-situated hotel.  Would definitely like to reopen the book on Page8 – once the restaurant and rooftop bar is open.
