Nestled in the heart of the City of London, LondonCryo offers a sanctuary for those seeking an invigorating escape from the bustling urban landscape. On a mission to explore innovative wellness treatments, I ventured in to experience a selection of their renowned therapies, having already been to their Belgravia site. The allure of indulging in self-care under one roof was simply irresistible, providing the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate both body and mind.

The Glow Getter Infusion
My journey began with the Glow Getter Infusion, a treatment designed to revitalise and enhance one’s natural radiance. Administered by the skilled and attentive nurse Jenny, this vitamin-packed IV drip aims to deliver a surge of hydration and essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream. What sets this experience apart is the ability to work from my laptop in privacy while receiving the infusion. The set-up allowed me to remain productive, yet enveloped in a cocoon of relaxation.

The infusion process was seamless, with Jenny ensuring my comfort and discussing the benefits of the treatment. She explained how regular sessions could contribute to long-term improvements in energy levels and overall well-being. As I settled into my private nook, it was clear that this was more than just a wellness treatment; it was a chance to pause and invest in self-care.
Illuminating Red Light Therapy
Next on my agenda was the Red Light Therapy, a non-invasive procedure that uses low-level wavelengths of red light to promote skin health and reduce inflammation. The softly glowing lights created an ambience of tranquillity, enhancing the meditative quality of the experience. This therapy is particularly appealing for its ability to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture, making it a favourite among those seeking a holistic approach to skincare.

The session was both calming and revitalising, as the warmth of the red light enveloped me. LondonCryo’s facility offers a serene environment where one can truly unwind, making it an ideal spot for those with busy schedules looking to incorporate wellness into their routine.
Cryoskin for Contouring
Led by the talented Guila, the Cryoskin treatment focused on contouring my thighs. Utilising a combination of cold temperatures and massage, Cryoskin aims to reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve skin elasticity. Guila’s expertise shone through as she explained the science behind the treatment, highlighting the importance of multiple sessions for optimal results.

The sensation of alternating hot and cold was invigorating, and I could feel the immediate tightening effect on my skin. While a single session can offer temporary benefits, it’s advised to undergo several treatments to see significant changes. This approach underscores the commitment to long-term wellness that LondonCryo promotes.
Concluding with Lymphatic Drainage
To round off my afternoon, Guila performed a Lymphatic Drainage massage, a gentle technique designed to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which helps to eliminate waste and toxins from the body. This treatment left me feeling exceptionally light and refreshed, as if a weight had been lifted.
The benefits of lymphatic drainage extend beyond the immediate sensation of relief, contributing to improved circulation and immune function. Guila’s gentle approach and expertise made this a highlight of my visit, reinforcing the notion that self-care is a vital component of a balanced lifestyle.
The All-in-One Wellness Retreat
What makes LondonCryo truly remarkable is the convenience of having all these treatments under one roof. It’s an ideal setup for those who wish to take a lunchtime or afternoon break to prioritise their health and wellbeing. The facility’s welcoming atmosphere and professional staff create an environment where one can unwind and recharge.
I also got the opportunity to interview the founder of LondonCryo, Maria Ensabella, about her journey and her recent book release, ReInventing Cool: How to Make COLD Your Best Ally Against Inflammation, Pain, and Aging.

What inspired you to write ReInventing Cool: How to Make COLD Your Best Ally Against Inflammation, Pain, and Aging and what message do you hope to convey through your book?
The inspiration came from seeing how many people are still hesitant, or even fearful, of cryotherapy. At LondonCryo, we’ve witnessed its incredible benefits firsthand, but also encountered a lot of uncertainty and misinformation. Reinventing Cool is our way of demystifying the practice: blending history, research, and real client experiences. It’s both a guide for those curious about cold therapy and a practical resource for other cryo business owners globally. Ultimately, we wanted to make cryo accessible and understandable.
Some authors find the process enlightening and transformative. Did you experience any unexpected insights while writing?
Absolutely. One of the biggest surprises was how emotionally connected people are to their cryotherapy journeys. We always knew it worked physically, reducing inflammation, easing pain, but the personal stories and transformations were deeply moving. Writing the book gave me a renewed respect for how powerful this modality can be, beyond the physical effects.

How does your book address the common misconceptions about cryotherapy?
We tackle the most common myths directly, like the belief that cryotherapy is dangerous, unproven, or only meant for elite athletes. Reinventing Cool walks readers through the origins of cold therapy, the latest research, and real-world applications that show how safe, accessible, and beneficial it can be for a wide range of people. It’s about shifting the perception from fear or scepticism to informed curiosity and confidence.
There are always alternative opinions in the wellness industry. Are there any misconceptions you find particularly challenging to dispel?
Yes, the idea that cryotherapy is just another passing wellness trend. That one persists, but it’s frustrating because cold therapy has been used therapeutically for centuries. What’s changed is the delivery. The tech has evolved, but the principles are timeless. Getting people to see it as more than a “cool” gimmick can be challenging, but the science speaks for itself.
What unique insights does your book offer on using cold therapy to combat inflammation, pain, and ageing?
Reinventing Cool dives into how cold exposure influences the body at a cellular level, helping reduce systemic inflammation, support circulation, and even stimulate collagen production. We explore the idea that cold therapy isn’t just reactive (for injuries), but proactive, an ongoing tool to support healthy ageing and longevity.
Do you think there’s a common myth about ageing that your book helps to clarify?
Yes, the myth that ageing means inevitable decline. We challenge that narrative. Ageing is natural, but how we age can be influenced by the choices we make. Cryotherapy, when used regularly, supports mobility, energy levels, and even mood.
