On my first visit to Kyoto, I had the pleasure of checking into the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei, a serene sanctuary nestled in the heart of this ancient city. Our accommodation for the stay was the breathtaking Bettei Suite, the hotel’s signature offering that promised a blend of luxury and traditional Japanese aesthetics. As we stepped into the suite, I was immediately captivated by its spaciousness and the meticulous attention to detail that characterized the design.

The Bettei Suite boasted a private balcony that overlooked the Higashi Honganji Okazaki Betsuin temple to the north. This picturesque view set the perfect backdrop for our stay, allowing us to soak in the tranquil beauty of Kyoto’s landscape. The sight of the Konkai Komyoji temple gate, which stood majestically before us, evoked a sense of history and culture that permeated the city.

Upon entering the suite, I found myself in a beautifully appointed lounge area that exuded warmth and comfort. The décor was a thoughtful blend of modern luxury and traditional Japanese elements, with understated elegance that made it feel like a home away from home. The lounge featured a guest bathroom, which was a considerate touch for entertaining visitors, and the space was filled with soft lighting and plush furnishings that beckoned one to relax.

Moving further into the suite, I discovered the large master suite bedroom. It was a haven of peace, with a plush king-sized bed adorned with crisp linens and an array of pillows that promised a restful night’s sleep. The en-suite bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a spacious shower, a luxurious bathtub, and a separate WC, all designed with high-end fixtures that added to the overall sense of indulgence.
