Easter might be famous for chocolate, but not every gift needs to come wrapped in foil. Sometimes it’s nice to mix things up with something that lasts a little longer than the average chocolate bunny — especially if the kids have already eaten enough sugar to power a small village. In this part of our Easter Guide, we’re sharing brilliant non-chocolate finds, including toys, games, arts and crafts kits, activities to keep little hands busy, and a few books that spark curiosity. Think of it as the part of Easter that keeps the fun going once the chocolate eggs have mysteriously… disappeared.
If you’re still hunting for must-have Easter chocolate and treats, make sure you check out Part One of our guide.

Monster High Skulltimate Secrets: Destination Gore-geous Oasis Draculaura Doll
What Is It?
An action-packed Monster High playset that takes Draculaura on a stylish getaway. This set includes the Draculaura doll, a storage case with hangers and shelves, two suitcases, three unlockable keys and a wardrobe of vacation-ready outfits and accessories, from sunglasses to a bandana and fan. Designed around fun unboxing and imaginative play, it invites kids to dress, store and trade outfits while they take Draculaura on her Gore-geous Oasis adventure.
What We Thought:
This one is a brilliant blend of dressing up and storytelling. The unlockable keys add a little “treasure hunt” excitement, which the girls absolutely loved. There’s something satisfying about discovering what’s behind each case. The wardrobe play and accessories felt like they’d been thought through well, and the storage case makes cleanup feel less like a chore (a rare win). Draculaura’s outfits have that classic Monster High flair: fun, bold, and ready for any holiday scenario your kids cook up. If your household loves fashion dolls with a twist of adventure, this hits the sweet spot.

Barbie Petal Pop Doll and Accessories
What Is It?
A floral-themed Barbie with a magical unboxing twist. Each scented doll arrives hidden inside a flower bouquet. Kids pluck off the petals, fill the included watering can, pour the water into the vase and watch as Barbie “blooms” out of the bouquet. Inside the surprise bags you’ll also find accessories like jewellery and even a little pet bunny. The reveal can be reset so the blooming moment can happen again and again.
What We Thought:
This is peak “unboxing theatre”, and my two absolutely loved the drama of it. The flower reveal is a fun gimmick, you pour the water and pop, Barbie appears like she’s grown there overnight. It’s clever, repeatable and very on-theme for spring. The scented element is subtle rather than overpowering, and the accessories (especially the bunny) added extra storytelling once the reveal was done. One thing to note: Barbie can’t stand on her own without support, but that didn’t bother my girls who were straight into imaginative play. If your child enjoys the surprise element of toys as much as the toy itself, this one really delivers.

Tamagotchi Original & Tamagotchi Collectables
What Is It?
The iconic digital pet is back and still as addictive as ever. The Tamagotchi Original lets kids hatch, feed, clean and care for their very own pixelated pet, with different characters appearing depending on how well you look after them. Alongside the devices, there are also Tamagotchi Collectables, blind bag figures featuring classic characters in cute poses, each with a stand, display case and sticker so fans can show off their favourite virtual pets in real life.
What We Thought:
This was pure nostalgia for me and instant fascination for the kids. My two loved the responsibility of checking in on their tiny digital friend throughout the day, feeding it, cleaning up after it, and occasionally panicking when it beeped for attention. It’s simple but strangely compelling, and the keychain design means it ends up clipped onto backpacks and taken everywhere. The collectable figures are a fun little extra too, perfect for fans who want something tangible to go with their digital pet. One warning: if you remember the 90s version, you’ll also remember the constant beeping. That part is still very much authentic.

Heads Will Roll
What Is It?
Heads Will Roll is a fast-paced pocket-sized dexterity game where players battle head-to-head to score the most points. Toss metal skulls and shields onto the playing surface and try to land them just right to claim victory and take the throne. The set includes one Golden Shield, two Copper Monster Skulls, two Silver Human Skulls and one Golden Treasure Chest, with multiple ways to play and quick rounds that make it ideal for gaming on the go.
What We Thought:
This is the kind of game that’s easy to learn but surprisingly competitive once you start playing. The metal pieces feel satisfyingly weighty, and there’s just enough skill involved to make every throw feel dramatic. It’s quick, chaotic fun that works brilliantly for families, especially when you want something small enough to throw in a bag for holidays, restaurant trips or Easter gatherings.

Liar’s UNO
What Is It?
Fans of UNO will love this twist on the classic card game, where fibs fly, and bluffing is part of the strategy. In Liar’s UNO, players place a “Liar’s Card” face down and announce what they claim it is. The catch? They might not be telling the truth. Opponents can challenge the play, and if the player is caught lying, they draw a card, but if they were telling the truth, the challenger has to pick one up instead. As always, when you’re down to one card, don’t forget to shout “UNO!”
What We Thought:
If your family already enjoys UNO, this version adds a hilarious extra layer of chaos. Trying to keep a straight face while bluffing is half the fun, and kids quickly get into the spirit of calling each other out. It’s simple, quick to play and perfect for family game nights. Just be prepared for a lot of dramatic accusations. It’s like The Traitors but with fewer cloaks.

Inside each egg are more than 10 surprises, including a super-soft Wild Heart plush and squishy slime, along with collectable accessories that make the unboxing experience part of the excitement.
What We Thought:
This is a great alternative Easter “egg” for younger kids who love plush toys and surprise reveals. The unboxing element keeps the excitement going for longer than a typical chocolate egg, and the adorable jungle-themed characters are guaranteed to be carried around everywhere once they’ve hatched.

Packed with six or more icy surprises, including slime digging and a light-up dinosaur to assemble, it’s a hands-on unboxing adventure with a dinosaur theme.
What We Thought:
This one leans fully into the messy, tactile fun kids love. Smashing open the egg and digging through slime to uncover the pieces makes it feel like a mini excavation, and the light-up dinosaur adds a nice reward once everything has been assembled. Perfect for dinosaur fans who want an Easter treat that lasts longer than chocolate.

Connetix Tiles
What Is It?
A longtime favourite in our house, Connetix magnetic tiles are a hugely popular creative building toy, and Easter is the perfect excuse to try themed builds like colourful ball runs. Using the magnetic tiles and ball run pieces, kids can design winding tracks for the balls to roll through, experimenting with height, angles and speed along the way.
What We Thought:
Ball runs are a lot of fun and surprisingly educational. Building them involves problem solving, experimentation, patience and often teamwork when siblings or friends get involved. The Easter-themed builds are a lovely seasonal twist, but the real appeal is how endlessly reusable the tiles are for creative play all year round.
